Worsening : Worsening pain, especially if it is accompanied by fever, vomiting, or other symptoms must be taken seriously. Bowel irritation, even constipation can cause abdominal pain. Other bowel problems such as appendicitis or other serious problems are usually, though not always, accompanied by fever or vomiting. Urinary tract infections cause painful and frequent urination, or discolored urine. If there is any concern about pregnancy, then the patient should take a pregnancy test to be sure.

Hard to say: The body can produce pains that are similar to contractions from several areas. These are triggered by stretch fibers & related nerves. They are found in the uterus, bladder wall, bowel wall ,& other tubular structures like the Fallopian tubes & ureters (tubes from kidneys to bladder). To sort this out you need an exam. In the short term ibuprofen and/or a heating pad may provide temporary aid.
