Hello, : Hello, bile is green. When foods are properly processed in the large intestine the green is transformed to brown. However, if you have liquid stool, it is transitting too quickly through the large intestine for this to occur and water is not be reabsorbed in the large intestine. When the stool transit time is normal, water is reabsorbed with a resulting firmer stool. You could have a mild gastroenteristis. Green vegetables can also lead to green coloration of stool. If you are taking in alot more fiber than normal, this could also be a cause. Hopefully this will pass quickly. You can drink clear liquids (not dark liquids like coffee, tea or soda ) for 12 hours to decrease the stress on your GI tract and then eat bland foods like rice, bannana, applesauce and toast for a day to see if that helps. Take care. Congratulations on the healthy lifestyle.
