Houston, It : Houston, it may, but it is unlikely. Get the trays in asap, and let your dentist know. Hope this is helpful, michael i. Wollock, dmd, agd fellow dentistry at suburban square 610-649-0313.

Not : Not really. This is one reason why your provider has you keep the previous set of aligners. If you find your current set does not fit well, then you have the ability to drop back to the previous set until you can get the current set in comfortably. Then, once you are able reset your "2 week" clock from the new date. You may have to make up a week or two if you have to drop back, but definitely not a big deal in the grand scheme of the overall treatment, and certainly no reason to worry. However, if the current set of aligners still fits well, then just keep with your schedule....No problem!

You : You will find that the aligners will feel very tight and most likely you will need to wear this set for a week longer to make up. You should immediately call your orthodontist and ask them for their advice. Best of luck!

YES : Yes it will mess up your treatment to leave your aligners out for a few days. But not badly. While your aligners are out the teeth will try to go back to where they were, and it is remarkable how far they can drift back in in just four days. I should not stress over it, you are not the first patient to forget the take their orthodontic appliances with them on a trip, and unless the tribulation comes, you won't be the last. Your teeth will catch up, so now relax. Dr neil mcleod dds dentistry that lasts - quality that counts.

Perhaps: Not wearing aligners for a period of time will permit the teeth to begin to return to a previous position. Consistency of wear is key. It is best to keep your previously used aligners just in case you notice a poor fit in the type of situation you described. Go back in the series to find an aligner pair that fits ideally with no air gaps and begin the process working forward again may be best.

You should be fine: They will be sore for a few days and wear them a few days longer to make up for the lost time before going forward. If they do not fit, go back the the set before.

Should be OK: When you put them in, they may be a little tight as they want to move your teeth back the 3-4 days they missed, but you'll be OK

Not good: Without guidance teeth may relapse exactly along the path they have been following, or may shift in an entirely different direction. If the trays do not go back in easily, return to your last set of trays for 2 weeks, then your current set for 2 weeks. Be sure to inform your Orthodontist or treating Dentist immediately. The more you wear trays each day, the better the end result and stability.
