Reduction : Reduction or loss of nipple sensation is a complication of breast reduction surgery that may occur when the nerves that travel through the breast tissue are affected during the process of removing the breast tissue. Some temporary reduction in sensation may also occur when there is post-procedure swelling around the nerves, and this will usually resolve in weeks to months after surgery. The rate of loss of nipple sensation is quoted to be around 15%, which means that 85 out of 100 women having breast reduction surgery will maintain normal or even increased nipple sensation. All the best, dr. Skourtis.

Depending : Depending on how much of a reduction you will need and how low your breasts sit or your chest, the possibility of loss or decreased nipple sensation does exist. Percentages are tough to state without examining you but a conservative guesstimate is probably around 5%. I hope this helps. Dr edwards.

In : In my experience it depends on the technique. If it is done as a free nipple graft much of the sensation will be gone.Doing a pedicle technique will do more to maintain nipple senasation.www.beautybybrueck.com.

Loss : Loss of nipple sensation from breast reduction has become much less common with newer procedures being available. Sensation loss can occur and the rate varies between 7% and 30% depending on the approach used by the surgeon. Some literature results maybe different.
