Brachioplasty : Brachioplasty can be done with local anesthesia, but patients are typically much more comfortable with IV sedation or general anesthesia. Brachiplasty involves usually a few hours of surgery with your arms outstretched. Also, local anesthetic injections can be uncomfortable, especially if administered over a large area. With IV sedation, you are relaxed and comfortable throughout the procedure, and you typically feel you have slept through the whole procedure. All the best, dr. Skourtis.

Brachioplasty : Brachioplasty can definitely be done under local, but i would recommend having it done with IV sedation, not general anesthesia, as it will make it easier on you and definitely the surgeon. Good luck from nyc. For more info visit www.Drgrossman.Com.

Talk to MD: You would prefer to have this operation with at least deep sedation. The surgeon will probably recommend a full general anesthetic.

Unless....: Unless it is a very small case, a local alone would probably not be adequate.
