As : As dr mcleod recommended, try a different otc pain reliever. Do you have an infection? Were you examined for this tooth? If you have an infection then an antibiotic will revieve some of the pressure. Forget the orajel and mouthwash. They are not going to help this type of pain best of luck to you.

Yes : Yes there is...You can call your dentist and say you are in horrible pain and need medication. He should have prescribed antibiotics if there was an infection. You seem to need pain medication that is stronger than over the counter meds....You can always increase Motrin to 800 miligrams which is what the dentist often prescribes.

Yes, : Yes, first of all if you have not already tried tylenol (acetaminophen) and advil i would two of each right away and then repeat that in two to four hours. If you have tried tylenol (acetaminophen) already, call your dentist and ask him to prescribe something a bit stronger. That should help. Best wishes dr neil mcleod dds dentistry that lasts - quality that counts.

Those : Those over the counter medications will help. Did you ask the dentist for an antibiotic? The problem with that thought, is that it will take about 24 hours to kick in.
