Cephalexin : Cephalexin is an antibiotic and is not a usual treatment for back pain. Antibiotics are given before and sometimes after back surgery and in cases of back infections. I would recommend seeing your primary care doctor for work up and treatment of your back pain. Initial treatments may include rest, anti-inflammatory medications and physical therapy. Pain that does not respond to these treatment should be seen by a spine specialist for consideration for steroid injections or surgery. Good luck!
