There : There are many treatments for seizure disorders. However these treatments merely lower the seizure threshold, meaning it makes them less likely to occur. There is no cure for epilepsy. However each case is different and a more detailed history is needed in order to determine what is best for you or the person in question. Often times other disorders/issues are triggering the seizures, and if those are treated, then the seizures will stop. Therefore, the person in question should seek the medical advice/care of a neurologist or start with their primary care provider. All the best.

Several: It is important to determine what type of seizures you have. Although some anti seizure meds will handle multiple seizure types, some meds are better for certain types of seizures (generalized vs. Focal). A mismatch between seizure type and antiseizure meds could make seizures worse. Many seizure meds work well and do not cause significant side effects. Discuss individual details with your md.
