You : You do sound like you are feeling unhappy. It is so hard to break up. Do you parents know that you cut yourself? If they don't know, please tell them. When a person cuts themself, it is usually a sign that things are not ok. Some people cut when they feel empty inside, or they might cut so that their physical pain distracts them from emotional pain. Cutting might ease tension or feel like you are letting bad stuff out. Regardless, of the reason, it means that you need some professional help. If you don't have a therapist, your parents need to help you find one. If you do have a therapist, make sure that he or she knows how you are feeling inside. If you have thoughts of killing yourself you need to let someone in responsibility; a parent, school counselor, teacher, etc.; know right away. This should not be ignored. You do need to talk with someoe. You can show your parents this response, it if well help with communication. Take care.

Self-cutting: Sorry to hear of your difficulties . . . Was your boyfriend wanting you to get help for your self-cutting? People do this for many reasons, but most causes relate to uncomfortable feelings and dislike of one's self. I don't know how old you are, but it sounds like you're still living with your parents. Please talk with them about getting help for yourself -- healing is possible.
