You : You may experience 1-3 days of discomfort in the area. It should be controllable with the use of different anti-inflammatory and pain medications. After that you may continue to experience soreness in the area diminishing during the first few weeks. You probably won't miss anytime from your daily activities. Healing and maturation of the tissues in the area may take 2-3 months but you should not experience discomfort during this period.

The : The recovery time of crown lengthening procedures are directly related to: the general blood condition of the patient such as prothrombin time. General oral health of the patient if periodontitis is present. If the patient is a smoker. And how much tooth structure was expose, meaning the amount of bone reduction exerted. This are the main factors influencing the healing time, and the waiting time is generally 2 to 3 weeks under good conditions.
