I : I am assuming by intense headache you mean his pain is about an 8 or higher out of ten. Regardless an unrelenting headache that has been present for 3 days needs to be investigated. He could be dealing with a tension or migraine headache, extremely high blood pressure, or even a bleed in his brain. I don't mean to scare you but serious things can and do happen. If he has not seen a doctor as of yet he should do so immediately. Best of luck.
