I : I know an answer has already been given, but i wanted to just go back to basics an recall the lecture and explanation we were given back in dental school. The lesson is as good today as it was then. Halitosis - bad breath, an offensive odor of the breath results from local and metabolic disorders. The local disorders might be poor oral hygiene, periodontal or gum disease, sinusitis and tonsillitis. The metabolic disorders might be lung infection (suppurative broncho-pulmonary disease), or other systemic disorders like diabetes or chemical imbalance being over weight or having kidney malfunction (acidosis and uremia). Having bad breath is a sign that something wrong so please visit your doctors and get your self checked out properly. Dr neil mcleod dentistry that lasts - quality that counts.

Another : Another reason for bad breath could be gerd- gastro esophageal reflux disease. Do you have heartburn? Try an over the counter antacid and see if that helps.

Although : Although you are using a mouthrinse, be sure there are no periodontal problems (gum disease) as an accumulation of bacteria can cause severe bad breath. It is likely a multi-factored issue, and may include one of the bridges. I would start with a periodontal evaluation, followed by replacing that bridge, and then fix any other issues that come to light.

Halitosis: Bacteria under a bridge can emit an bad odor, bad breath can also be caused by several things. One, is tooth bacteria, but your tounge has crypts that have bacteria as well. Tonsils, and acid reflux can also cause bad breath. Brushing your tounge and watching what you eat can be helpfull. Speak to your dentist and maybe a physician if you suspect reflux.

Lots of reasons: Causes of bad breath are many , could come from the oral cavity, gastric or max. Sinuses . In your case the cause probably is the oral cavity, since you have two old fixed bridges on both sides, changing them is optional, checking for recurrent decay or gum inflammation under or around them through periodic recall visits to your dentist, and maintaining good oral hygiene is a must.
