It's : It's always a challenge trying to give meaningful answers to questions without some important information, like age, how long the pain has been there, whether there was any association with trauma, whether there is any swelling or redness, and what, if anything, relieves it. But i'll try my best.... <<the middle of the inside of my foot>> it sounds like you're referring to the arch area. Arch pain can be due to many things, including flat feet, tendonitis, arthritis, and an assortment of inflammatory conditions. It could also be vascular, either arterial ("poor circulation") or venous (phlebitis). There are also a number of conditions that stem from the plantar fascia, a ligament that connects the heel to the ball of the foot, and runs underneath the arch, including simple inflammation of the plantar fascia to a fibroma vested inside the plantar fascia. Since you describe your pain as sharp, and it seems to be fairly pronounced, since you're unable to bear full weight on your foot, and it (if i'm interpreting your question correctly) seems to be painful only on weight bearing, a stress fracture is not out of the question either. Of course, your best bet is to pay a visit to your favorite podiatrist, get an x-ray, and i assure you, you'll have a much better idea of what's going on with your tootsie after that than you'd ever find out asking on line here. Good luck!

Plantar fascitis: Sounds like classic plantar fascists. You can try calf raises to stretch and warm epson salt soaks to help with the pain and swelling. If it persisits see your pcp, they may can inject it for you or refer you to a podiatrist for further care.

Plantar fascitis?: Without clinical evaluation it is impossible to diagnose. Need to know things like the time of the pain (morning? Evening?), location (front of heel, lateral surface, both). Suggest you see a podiatrist for evaluation.
