Hello. : Hello. I do not know the reason for your slow heart beat. A normal resting pulse for an adult is between 60 to 100 beats per minute. A slow heart beat is called “bradycardia†and it might be normal or it could be signs of a health problem. Your heart beat can get slower with age and is often slow in very athletic people. Some medication or health problems can make your heart beat slower. So, you can put your finger (not your thumb) over your pulse (on the wrist below the thumb). It if is the heart rate is below 60 beats in 60 seconds, that is slow. If you have chest pain, you feel very tired, you think you might faint, you feel dizzy, it has suddenly become much harder to exert yourself or breath(i.e., like walking up the stairs), your heart is fluttering or pounding really hard, this could mean that your heart is not well. I know I am answering this several days after you wrote. If you are having the above symptoms you probably need to get seen at the emergency room. I do recommend that you call your doctor at minimum since you described your heart as beating slower and your may be having symptoms from that. Take care.
