Yes: In fact emphysema/copd is the leading indication for lung transplant in the United States today. Typically patients with COPD are given a single lung but if there is high pressure in the lungs (pulm hypertension) a double lung can be done. One year survival rates are excellent (>90%) but five year survival falls to about 60%.
