This : This would be a better question for the gastroenterologists. Dermatologists treat basal cell carcinomas of the skin, but "basal hyperplasia" probably is referring to the squamous cells/other cells lining the stomach/esophagus and are not the same "basal cells" we treat in dermatology. Inflammation: it's one of the histologic findings in esophagitis - in your child's case, reflux esophagitis. Meaning there is some inflammation in the lining of the esophagus as a result of the reflux. I hope the meds will kick in soon and your child feels better!
