I : I think you might be referring to iron deficiency anemia. It is common. Because the body doesn’t have enough iron, it can’t make enough hemoglobin. The hemoglobin carries oxygen in the blood cells. Talk to your doctor about eating foods that are rich in iron and about iron supplementation.

I : I agree with dr. Stuppy. Iron deficiency is particularly problematic in vegetarians who don't compensate from reduced iron in their diets by eating iron-rich vegetables or taking iron supplements. It can also be caused by chronic blood loss. Your doctor may test your stool to see if you're having any silent bleeding into your bowel. Very heavy menstrual bleeding is also associated with iron deficiency anemia.

Anemia : Anemia is a broad category of diseases, referring to "low red blood", and it can be subdivided to numerous entities, all chronic, not happening suddenly (such as hemorrhage or bleeding) and most often result from poor production of blood and/or loss of blood. You are referring to "iron deficiency anemia" although there are other "elements and vitamins deficiency anemias" such as "vitamin b12", "folic acid" among other "deficiency anemias". Pushed to the extreme, these deficiencies affect other organ damges such as nervous sytems (neuropathy), and heart conditions (heart failure) resulting ultimately in death. The answer is "yes, in extreme conditions if not treated.

Anemia: Anemia is a condition where hemoglobin is below the normal range. It can be caused by blood loss, inherited rbc problem, destruction of the blood cell, deficiency of certain nutrients- iron, vitb12 etc. If anemia is severe can cause fatigue, weakness, shortness of breath, chest pain-heart failure etc.Anemia due to deficiency is a chronic process-likely to be caught and treated, before causing demise.
