Comments: Iron deficiency is not typically a cause for muscle aching, and fibromyalgia is typically associated with a specific pattern of increased tenderness and sensitivity, and a sleep disorder. Muscle disease could be explanation, but peripheral nerve disorder could also be considered. If this is significant, and troubling, maybe see neurologist.

No test for fibro: If you have widespread pain and nothing much else to explain it, I don't know how fibromyalgia could be ruled out - it is what we call a "diagnosis of exclusion " - meaning it is only diagnosed when it is NOT something else. Iron deficiency can make you tired and cause some soreness, but cool extremities would be more common. Unless it is severe or for another reason, I don't think it explains it
