A member asked:

What could be the cause of one of my husband's testicle being the size of his fist? in the last eight months (since july until now) it has gradually grown quite considerably. he has also lost weight.

The : The most worrisome thing would be testicular cancer. This is most common in men in their 20's and 30's or in their 60's and 70's. There are other things that can cause one side of the scrotum to be enlarged, including hernia, fluid collections called hydroceles, cysts, and varicose veins. An infection or bleeding could do it, too, but not over a period of 8 months. It is imperative that your husband see a urologist as soon as possible. It must be assumed that he has cancer until proven otherwise. Testicular cancer, caught early, responds well to treatment, but he's already wasted 8 months.
