I : I would recommend you see a dermatologist who can perform a nail culture, determine what type of fungus you might have, and then discuss treatment options if the culture comes back positive for fungus. Otc medications are unlikely to help if you have fungus under your nails. I hope that helps.

Fungal infections.: Agree with Dr. Seward. Over-the-counter antifungal nail treatments don't have a high success rate. I agree with evaluation by dermatologist to accurately identify what condition this is. If is is a fungus, oral antifungal agents might be a consideration.
