A member asked:

Is it normal to hear things that aren't there if i haven't slept in a few days?

It can happen.: It is occasionally a result of extensive sleep deprivation. When that occurs, not only can people hear things, they can also see things not there. The person may or may not know it's not real. Restoring sleep generally clears it. However, the onset of a psychotic depression, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder or schizophrenia can start with inability to sleep. That needs more than sleep.

Yes: Sleep depravation can cause hallucinations. For heaven's sake, get some sleep!
