I : I agree. 1 liter, maybe up to 1.5. 70% of unstimulated saliva (not during eating, smelling, or thinking of food) comes from the submandibular glands. Most stimulated salivation comes form the parotid glands.

Depending : Depending on your level of hydration your salivary glands produce anywhere from 1-1.5 quarts of saliva per day. You have 3 pairs of major salivary glands (parotid, submaxillary, and sublingual). In addition there are thousands of minor salivary glands lining the oral cavity.
