With : With input from your psychiatrist, you could consider use of melatonin at a starting dose of 3mg per night. Please speak with your psychiatrist about taking any over the counter medications or any herbal or supplemental remedies.

Melatonin, Benadryl (diphenhydramine): When the ongoing experience of insomnia in bipolar disorder it is important to keep your physician aware of your sleep challenges as these can be related to imminent deterioration in your condition. You may want to consider melatonin or Diphenhydramine although i would definitely discuss these options with your prescribing physician. Stay safe!
