Yes: Stress of many types can - such as sleep deprivation, severe threats to life or safety, sudden deaths of family or close friends, loss of major sensory functions (sight hearing or speech). Major metabolic issues (diabetes, kidney or liver failure) can lead to metabolic toxicity and hallucinations and delusions. A personal or family history of psychosis may be triggered by those same stressors.
