A member asked:

What parkinson's treatments are there beyond l-dopa 56 year old male. has not responded to levadopa.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Multiple medicines: There are numerous treatment options available for parkinson's disease. Other medications include Dopamine agonists (requip, mirapex, neupro), as well as other medications such as azilect (rasagiline). If the Levodopa has not made a difference, a higher dose may still be effective. Talk with your doctor about what sorts of changes you should expect to see from any of these medications.
