Having a bad time with the parkinson's.. diagnosed one year ago.. taking carbo levodopa which is exuberating the dyskinesia ... my neurologist has prescribed gocovri.. does this take a while to work? or can it help within a few days?

Options: So Sorry to hear that. Carbidopa can have the side effect of dyskinesia which can be more troublesome than the disease itself. Gocovri is an option and works relatively quickly. Please consider the side effect profile. Also dopamine agonists like pramipexole or rotigotine can be considered for more stable and predictable response. All these meds can have side effects so comes down to tolerabilty.
