As : As a general rule eye drops or opthalmic drops and ear drops or otic drops are often quite similar. However, eye drops are suited for the eyes and do not have additives that would cause burning and irritation to the sensitive surface of the eye. They also have a very sterile surface. Ear drops and solutions often have similar ingredients but can be more liberal in the preservatives used as the ear canal is not as sensitive as the eye. In general an eye drop could be used for the ear, but an ear drop should not be used as an eye drop as significant injury could occur. Of course, it is best to discuss with your physician or pharmacist before using a medication for its non indicated use.

Maybe: Some ear infections can be treated with tobrex (tobramycin) but i would go see a regular doctor to be sure you do not need oral antibiotics.
