Red eye: Tobramycin is a good choice for bacterial conjunctivitis, but it has no effect on viral conjunctivitis, which often lasts 1-4 weeks depending on the type of virus. In addition, some people are allergic to tobramycin.

You might : Be suffering from allergic or viral conjunctivitis, that is why tobramycin is not working. Use zaditor (ketotifen) instead. It is now available over the counter (used to be a prescription). See your doctor asap if with eye pain, swelling, purplish discoloration / redness around your eyes .You may also take Claritin , allegra, zyrtec or any antihistamines of your choice along with eyedrops.
