Maybe: That is a question for the doctor that put the stitches in your foot. It is never advisable to seek non-professional care for a post-operative condition.

A stitch in time..: It might be okay, as long as the stitches were not of a reconstruction of the foot. If just skin and no deeper sutures placed a great bandage could be fine. I would call the surgeon and ask him before you actually do it.
