A member asked:

Is it normal for repeat glioblastoma multiforme surgery to affect my husband's thinking and emotional control?

It can happen: Depending on the location of the tumor and the extensiveness of the surgery, these symptoms can occur.

Unfortunately yes: Although repeat gbm surgery has recently been shown to increase length of life from gbm (brain cancer), it is still associated with substantial issues. A large number of patients can suffer from focus/memory problems, headaches, nausea, weakness, numbness, ataxia, or bowel/bladder symptoms. Please talk to your oncologist/neurosurgeons about your husband;s specific symptoms.
