I : I wonder if you had bleeding from a small blood vessel. If a small blood vessel tore, it would cause bleeding and discoloration. It sounds like there was no injury that you recall, which makes it very unusual to have the swelling or the tear in the blood vessel. If you have this happen again or see bruising or discoloration, you should be seen and evaluated, or of course if you had any signs of infection in your hand.

Finger swelling : can occur due to trauma, infection, tendonitis among other issues, if the swelling has not gone down then consider seeking medical care. Its tough to give an explicit answer over the text of a computer but several days of persistent swelling can mean an infection, an din the finger tendon sheath on the palm side, that's nothing to fool around with
