If : If you have fever, chest pain, cough, and shortness of breath in the setting of MRSA skin lesions, you should be seen and have a chest xray if your doctor feels the small risk of the xray in prenancy is warranted by your symptoms and exam. Mrsa can get in the blood if you have pneumonia and can be checked for with blood samples.

It is possible: Yes, it's possible for an infection starting in one place (skin, lung etc.) to get into the blood stream. The medical term is "bacteremia" ... (or "sepsis" if you have generalized symptoms resulting from it). It's also possible to have two separate infections. If MRSA is known, hopefully you were started on an antibiotic which covers it. If you are improving, then that is a good sign.Good luck
