Chronic : Chronic steroid anti-inflammatory medication can slow down wound healing. A lot depends on what drug you are taking and how high of a dose it is. You could discuss the issue with your rheumatologist to see if the dose you are on would affect overall healing. It may also be worthwhile to make sure your vasculitis condition won't affect healing as well.

Still Possible: Steroids decrease our ability to heal and fight infection. Depending on the dose, you still may be able to have a mentoplasty. I would consult with a well respected facial plastic surgeon who can coordinate things with your rheumatologist.

Steroids : Steroids can significantly affect wound healing, resulting in higher rates of infection and other issues. This can further be exacerbated when using an implant [in your case a chin impant] i would strongly recommend considering discussing any elective cosmetic surgery with your rheumatologist and your plastic surgeons so you can adequately review and understand the risks in your particular situation.

Healing: Steriods generally slow down the healing process as they affect the biosynthesis of collagen. Collagen is a major protein made by the body in healing and forming scars. You will need to discuss this with your surgeon who may or may not want you to be off the steroid for a period of time around the surgery.
