My son turns 2 next week and i have just noticed a white/yellowish bump on the right side of his tongue, what is it, and should should i take him to the hospital?

It : It would be appropriate to have him medically evaluated. Please call your pediatrician and ask for an appointment. Sometimes children can bite their tongue, then it appears whitish/yellow. If he has tongue swelling, shortness of breath, fever, or rash, then he should be seen as an emergency.
