Are there any alternatives to night-guards in your mouth that can deal with bruxism?

Guards work well: Medications can help somewhat, however, guards are preferable. An nti device is especially useful. It is small and quite comfortable. It prevents your back teeth from coming together so you can't clench or grind. Ask your dentist about it.

Some-but not as good: The right night guard can be highly effective. A really thoughtfully made guard, can take up minimal amount of space in your mouth as well. There are a number of different types. Only a few are truly effective. Even within that small group there is some variety of how they fit and feel in your mouth. Make sure to visit a dentist who deals with a lot of jaw problems, or tmj.

Exam and history: A night guard can work, but it is often better first to try and determine the source of your grinding, if possible. A history and examination are needed to help determine potential treatment and therapies in addition to a night splint.
