My : My first question for you is, has the mass found on your ovary in 2009 been followed, meaning have you had repeat ultrasounds to monitor it? If not you need to request follow up for this issues asap. On to the bleeding..There are many causes, the most concerning is a possible miscarriage, is there a chance you could be pregnant? Other causes include hormonal imbalance, cancer, medications (i.e. Anti-inflammatory meds like ibuprofen), bleeding disorders etc. The bottom line is to schedule an appointment with your primary care provider right away in order to determine the cause of your bleeding, and to provide treatment as indicated. Good luck.

Fibroids: Abnormal and heavy menses can be related to several issues. It can happen an you age, due to irregular ovulation, miscarriage or problems with your uterus such as fibroids or a uterine polyp. Less likely would be a uterine cancer. The ovarian cyst is not likely related. Small cysts can be of no consequence. Size and consistency of the cyst are important in determining the quality of the cyst.
