Lots: Breast reduction patients are almost uniformly glad they had the procedure and wish they had sone it sooner. In addition to decrease size and weight, the breasts will be lifted and shaped better. Also, without all that weight, exercise and activities are much easier on the body. Pros are scarring and general surgical risks- bleeding/ infection- very low.

Your comfort: Pros and cons are relative and depend upon the individual. If you are troubled by large breasts, back, shoulder and neck pain - you might want to consider breast reduction. The cons are that it is surgery, with potential complications, albeit minimal if done by the proper surgeon. I would suggest selecting the services of a board certified plastic surgeon. Check out your surgeon's credentials!

Many: Breast reduction is one of the most patient pleasing operations performed. Pros include improvement of neck/back/shoulder discomfort, improvement of bra strap grooving/posture and/or improvements with skin breakdown/rashes/infections. Downside include scarring, potential for loss of nipple/areola sensation or ability to breast-feed, and other “standard” risks associated with surgery.

Pros and Cons: The pros are that a breast reduction alleviates whatever concerns the patient has (back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, physical limitations, self-image issues) while the biggest con is typically the scar, though other cons would be possible risks and complications (as with any surgical procedure).

Breast reduction: The pros of the bilateral breast reduction is the loss of the breast weight pulling on your chest and the loss of neck and back pain associated with large breasts. It is a very satifying procedure for most patients. The cons are as follows: you could lose some sensation in your nipple/areolar complex, there are scars involved, there is always a possibility of scars or infection.

Many pros: Woman who seek breast reduction are pleased with the shape and size of their new breasts. They note less neck, back and breast pain or it may be totally gone. The clothing selection has expanded for them and they have a much better self image. The cons are typical of any surgery: infection, bleeding, scarring, discomfort and a period of healing or inactivity. The pros win out.
