See plastic surgeon: Certified by the american board of plastic surgery. Breast reduction is most often done for the symptoms caused by the weight of large breasts: neck and upper back pain, grooving of the shoulders from bra straps, and repeated skin irritation in the folds under the breasts. I have done reductions on 15 year-olds with severe neck and back pain...This is rare but it does occur.

No age limit: Although we usually like to wait until the breasts have finished maturing before performing any surgery on them, a small percentage of adolescent girls can have a significant increase in their breast size that can cause neck and back pain. These patients are candidates for a breast reduction.

Does'nt DependOn Age: I have done breast reductions from age fourteen upto seventyone. On teenagers, though my main criteria is no change in bra cup size over 6 to 12 months - I have on rare occasions done breast reductions from age fourteen, because they were so large with enormous back and neck pains.

Almost All: Breast reduction surgery tends to be one of the most patient pleasing operations plastic surgeons perform. Teenagers who suffer from juvenile breast hypertrophy may be good candidates for the procedure. Otherwise, assuming overall good health, patients of all ages are potentially good candidates.
