The : The concern here is shortness of breath. This should be checked to avoid complications. It could be something very simple but it could get complicated quickly. Have it checked out. Btw there is no such thing as a dislocated rib.

Rib: Most rib injuries are treated conservatively. Certainly if you're having hard time breathing or if your pain is not well controlled with over-the-counter medications you can see your doctor on an outpatient basis.
