A : A body wrap works by detoxifying the body and replacing with minerals, reducing fluid retention and tightening the skin. Depending on the type of body wrap you undergo, you can expect to lose anywhere from 2-10 inches (measurements are taken from several points in the body including waist, arms, hips and legs). It is crucial to follow the proper regimen prior to having a body wrap to optimize the results. Your practitioner will make recommendations based on the results you desire. For instance, you may be expected to avoid certain foods that promote water retention, avoid alcohol and perform 10-20 minutes of light exercise prior to the treatment to promote best blood flow. There are an array of body wraps meant to reduce inches in the body. Talk to your practitioner about your target areas so that you recieve a body wrap that is catered to your desires.

Can’t lose weight : There is NO scientific evidence that body wraps have any effect other than possibly some topical skin effect. They cannot “detoxify” you. You have a liver and kidney they perform those functions. If you like the way a wrap makes you feel and you can afford it then it’s fine. But if you expect any permanent effects such as weight loss you will be disappointed
