Depends: The safety of genetically modified food depends upon the proteins or other substances produced by the transferred genetic material. Transferred genetic material itself is generally not of concern. Concerns are raised when the modified food contain substances significantly different in quality and quantity than counterpart substances in natural food.

GMO foods: are not safe for anyone. Children are especially vulnerable. Their nutritional value is questionable and we don't have enough data to tell exactly what their impact will be over time. Peace and good health.

Likely yes: Humans have been genetically modified food for eons. There is thus far no scientific studies to show that GMF is unsafe. Having said that, I am still wondering if GM wheat has made wheat intolerance or Celiac disease more common- again this is a question and not a conclusion by any means. Let's face it, famine would have been more common in the developing countries without miracle wheat or rice
