A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hole in eardrum?: You may have had one of two scenarios: 1. You had a hole in your eardrum and jumping in the lake led to water going into your middle ear space, which hurts. The water is retained leading to infection producing hearing loss. 2. You pushed a column of water with so much pressure that your previously intact ear drum ruptured producing pain and hearing loss. Possible infection. Get it examined.
