Vascularitis : Vascularitis is inflammatory destruction of the veins (phlebitis) or arteries (arteritis). Since there are veins and arteries throughout the body, the clinical manifestations of vascularitis can vary, based on location in the body. Treatment is directed toward decreasing inflammation (i.e. Giving medication containing corticosteroids such as prednisone), suppressing the immune system and treating infection with antibiotics.
