The : The length of the otoplasty surgery depends on a lot of factors, though a rough estimate is anywhere from 2 to 6 hours. It depends on the anatomical reason of why your daughter's ears are prominent and the various techniques that can be used to fix each problem. You should get an opinion from plastic surgeon or pediatric otolaryngologist in your area who does this kind of operation frequently. 2-3 hours: In typical cases, surgery takes about 2 hours. Ideally, otoplasty is performed in children around the age of 6 years, by which time the ear has attained roughly 85% of its full adult size.

Safe surgery - 2 hrs: Preschool age is a common timing for ear setback or otoplasty procedures. It can be done in a younger or older child but the type of the procedure performed is different. The procedure takes about 2 hours and is under a general anesthetic. Children tolerate the procedure well and are extremely happy and more importantly do not face the ridicule of other kids.
