Poison ivy: It is very unusual for poison ivy to cause burning sensations. Usually it causes very severe itching. The rash is usually also very prominent. I would see a physician to help determine the cause since it may not be due to poison ivy. In addition poison ivy on the face particularly around the eyes generally requires systemic therapy with corticosteroids available only by prescription.
