I have extremely large tonsils, i have a surgery set up but my airways are becoming blocked and breathing is getting difficult. i have been drinking ice water and eating bread to try and clear something that may be caught in between the tonsils.

With : With the symptoms that you describe, you should contact the ENT physician who is going to do your surgery and discuss these complaints. Sometimes patients will need to go on messages to "shrink" the tonsils down, such as oral steroids. Because you are having breathing difficulties, this is very important that you discuss this with your doctor right away.

Concerning.: Your description above “breathing getting difficult” is concerning. Maybe best to inform your ENT physician about the difficulties you are having; it may be feasible to expedite surgery ( if clinically appropriate) for you.
