What are the least toxic chemotherapeutic agents for treating bladder cancer?

Depends on type: Treatment for bladder cancer depends on type and stage. Some cancers can be treated by removal alone or removal and placement of "chemotherapy" directly into bladder which tends to have the least toxic effect on the whole body. Other, more aggressive bladder cancers require traditional chemotherapy which is typically more toxic. Decision for treatment can only be made by a urologist/oncologist.

"Gem/Cis": This is shorthand for gemcitabine and cisplatin. These two drugs have shown similar effectiveness to the "gold standard" of 4 drugs ("mvac" - methotrexate, vinblastine, adriamycin, (doxorubicin) cisplatin) with much less (but still potentially significant) toxicity.
