No: No but prostatitis can elevate your psa and that could lead to a prostate biopsy which could detect prostate cancer. Make sure your prostatis is fully treated and you have not ejaculated for at least 72 hrs before getting a psa checked.

No: There is no evidence to support that infection/inflammation in the prostate, or prostatitis, predispose a man to developing prostate cancer. However, inflammatory processes in the prostate such as infections may drastically change the prostate specific antigen (psa) value.
