No: The parathyroid glands secrete parathyroid hormone which helps to maintain calcium levels. Majority of primary hyperparathyroidism is detected in asymptomatic patients on routine laboratory screening panels. The parathyroid glands are quite small even when enlarged. It is not easy and very difficult to feel a parathyroid tumor.
