The : The short answer is no. Every medication has a risk and benefit and it will be up to you and your doctor to decide what those are. With all your co-morbidities i would be very careful of adding medications to your regimen. That said, a good exercise program and appropriate diet, both tailored to your needs and capabilities is the best thing you can do to lose the weight.

Med for weight loss: Your stats put you at a bmi of 28.1 which is clearly overweight. Accordingly, i would recommend considering: a) making sure your thyroid is completely and adequately replaced. This means a tsh, free t4, free t3 (liothyronine), (liothyronine) and reverse t3 (liothyronine). All too frequently, docs are guided by TSH only. B) topomax (topirimate) is a medication i frequently use in my patients. It "defizzes" pop and cuts carb cravings.
